§ 1-11-8. Burying/submerging solid waste.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful to bury in the earth or submersing in a body of water solid waste material for the purpose of disposal. With the exception of beneficial fill—those materials excepted by the state to fill in a low lying area and which comply with the county's, state's and federal building codes or any environmental laws/regulations. The types of beneficial fill excepted to fill in a low lying area are as followed; concrete, cinder block, brick, and asphalt.

    (b)

    Permitted landfill sites which are approved by the solid waste director which ether meet or exceed the state and federal laws and regulations are exempt from the proceedings set forth in this chapter.
